FIRST DAY OF PONGAL CELEBRATION

                                      Day one of Pongal is celebrated honouring lord indha who is considered as the rain god. Also known as bhogi Pongal the first day is for performing the ritural collectively . on this day in many villages people. Light to fire and sing and dance around it.

 

THE SECOND DAY OF PONGAL FESTIVAL

                                        The day is known as thai Pongal that celebrates the sun god . on the second day of Pongal people typically take an early morning bath after which they   make a rangoli using kolam or lime powder .after this a special ritual is followed in which rice and milk are boiled together in an eathern pot .apart from this other item like sugarcane sticks ,banana and coconut are also offered to sun, secking god grace.

 

THE THIRD DAY OF PONGAL FESTIVAL

                                      On this day of the festival cows are worshipped and adorned with garland and bells. That right on the third day farmers give special attention to decorting their cows using multi colour beads sheaves post this an ceremony is performed to workship them.

 

THE FOURTH DAY OF PONGAL

                                       The fourth day of Pongal is known as kannum Pongal . In some part of tamilnadu kannum Pongal is also known as karinnal .sun god is worshipped on the day and people offer food along with sakarai Pongal .
